RESPONSIBILITIES:
You will be providing technical support to the mine operations’ activities. You will also provide planning of the mine control studies, assistance in budgeting, long-term planning, and plans for the life of a mine, technical aspects of the management of tailings dams and the management of stable yards in open pits.
 Developing and implementing of mine planning system.
 Ensuring Technical manpower and related resources to effectively and efficiently perform all required services.
 Directing of short, medium and long term mine design and scheduling.
 Developing and analyzing of options to increase project.
 Delivering quality and timely Engineering services to operations.
 Providing Significant input into calculation of annual and quarterly reserve statements.
 Ensuring optimum performance and interaction of professional staff.
 Ensuring training and localization targets are met.
 Department operating costs are within budget.
 Ensuring tailings dam and related structures are built and operated in accordance with design parameters.
 Ensuring engineering personnel are adequately trained and equipped to perform all assigned duties and adhering to requirements of Health & Safety Management Plan.
 Ensuring conformity to the Environmental Management System – ISO Standard 14001.
 Promoting awareness of the significant environmental impact of their work activities and the environmental benefits of improved personal performance.
 Assisting in the administration of Code of Conduct.
QUALIFICATIONS:
 University degree, preferably in Mining Engineering.
 Excellent English, written and oral.
 Experience with gold mining.
 7+ years Mining Engineering experience showing progressive increase in responsibility.
 International experience.
 High level of computer fluency is expected: GEMCOM, Whittle, AutoCAD, Mine Production control systems, Excel, Access.
 Skilled at managing technical personnel in a multicultural environment.
